TX Digital Field Service Engineer
The Digital Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical sales support, equipment demonstrations, training, sample processing and field service installation and repair of inkjet and related equipment. Repairs and installations will take place in the field as well as remotely, this technician is responsible to support either situation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform installation and repair of digital equipment at customer sites.
- Provide training to customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment, digital file preparation, and RIP processing.
- Remote customer support/troubleshooting as well as on-site service as needed.
- Effectively communicate and obtain appropriate data needed to identify, analyze and resolve service requirements.
- Clearly communicate problem solutions through data base entries, written reports and verbal communication with customers and colleagues.
- Maintaining of demo and test facilities at employer’s location
- Imaging of printed samples for customers and marketing
- Participation at trade shows to set up and demonstrate equipment
- Regular visits back to HQ to offer workload support as well as refresher on training
- Travel to include, but not to be limited to the territory of the remote technician
- Thorough reports to be completed in timely manner
- Regular 1:1 with manager
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent vocational training in a related field
- Basic Graphic Arts skills with working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Corel,
- Experience in servicing inkjet printing or similar equipment in a print production environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Should possess strong collaborative abilities, to not only obtain assistance form colleagues but also provide assistance when able
- Must have good color vision and attention to detail
- Strong aptitude for customer relations, and communication skills
- Travel is necessary, globally when necessary
- A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, as well as a reliable vehicle
- A valid passport
- Ability to lift 20 to 30lb heavy objects
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift
- Must be able to speak and write in English
- Understanding Zoom, Teams, and other video conferencing tools
- Knowledge of RIP and Workflow processing would be a bonus
- Must be able to provide proof of ability to legally work in the U.S. The company doesn’t sponsor work visas.
