UV cylindrical inkjet printing does not have to include vibrant, solid colors. Adjusting print settings can achieve the artist’s ideal creation.
An etched feature using a UV cylindrical inkjet printer is meant to mimic the look of etching glass using a laser or similar product. Obtaining an etched look requires using only white (no varnish) at a lower opacity on glass. This mimics the look of etching the glass with a less opaque white color. Typical applications for this design feature includes pint glasses, wine glasses and more. Having a versatile UV cylindrical inkjet printer enables companies to switch between beautiful, full-color designs or simple, etched artwork.
A stained glass design feature is similar to etched but color is used instead of white. Printing color without white behind gives a lighter hue with the ability for light to shine through. Stained glass can be achieved by printing color only or color and varnish. There is even the ability to mix stained glass and a regular print where sections of the artwork will not have white to showcase the product.
These design features can be achieved on the Helix® Digital Cylinder Printer and on the Revolution® High Speed Digital Cylinder Printer.
