Employee Spotlight: Gabriel Vallellanes

Introducing Gabe Vallellanes, our New Products Application Engineer, who has an in-depth mastery of the Revolution®, Helix ONE®, XJET Switch, and our complete range of digital machines. With an extensive tenure at Inkcups, Gabe has naturally become the primary point of contact for a multitude of machines, making him the ultimate “go-to” resource. Get acquainted with Gabe in the following Q&A.

Q. You’ve been with Inkcups for quite some time, right? How many years, and how has your role changed over the years?

Gabe: Very long time!  I’ve been with Inkcups for 12 years now.  I don’t view it as my role changing so much, it’s more like my responsibilities have grown alongside the growth of the company. That being said I have done just about every role (except accounting) over the years.  I started in production in the pads dept and had to earn John’s approval over a month of scraping pads just to be trusted to make one batch of pads myself. I’ve also worked in Plates cutting them and etching them, customer service, inside sales, pad printing, inks and ink color matching, international accounts, Pad print technical support, Inkjet Technician, engineering technician, to now R&D.  So, you name it I’ve done it, point to any machine on our floor- I’ve worked on it.

Q. What is your favorite part about your job at Inkcups?

Gabe: Favorite part is lunch time! But, the most rewarding is getting positive feedback from a customer you’ve helped.  Whether it be a new install or troubleshooting, it’s always great to hear back from them when they’ve had success.

Q. How do you like to spend your free time?

Gabe: I spend my free time outdoors if I can, walking the trails around home, camping and hiking as well.  Even if it’s just taking a drive around time with the windows down.  If I’m not doing something outside, I’m hanging out with friends and family.

Q. What is something that everyone should know about Inkcups?

Gabe: I would say individuals come here for the potential to work with an innovative, fun, fast paced company. But they end up staying here because of the people.  Yeah, it’s hard work at times but your co-workers make it worthwhile.
